Yashica was a Japanese manufacturer of camera. Began in 1949, producing clocks. Then they introduce their first camera the Yashimaflex (a TLR camera) in 1953. In 1983, all Yahsica brand camera were marketed by Kyocera (a multinational manufacturer). Sadly in 2005, Kyocera halted the production of Yashica cameras.
What I have here is a Yashica FX-7, a 1980's classic SLR camera. Few can be found nowadays, most have been kept as antiques while some people still use it to express their love in film photography.
Enough with the history talk. This Japan made camera is still functioning. Shutter speeds are excellent. There are few minor scratches here and there on the metal body while the leather is a little bit torn. But the design of this camera makes it look astonishing. Quite nostalgic using this camera. Reminds me of my childhood... buying films, sending the used films to a camera shop to develop and all . Just like old times. The only big difference is that, in the old days I just use a point and shoot camera. This on the other hand is a manual SLR camera.
Less talk, more pictures after the break. Well... not really that much pictures though.
It's really hard using this camera, all fully manual. Even though the light metering still works, some of my pictures end up over exposed (too bright) or under exposed (too dark). But most end up out of focus, really blur. So... here it goes...
Few more in my flickr, click here.
Need some time to get use to this camera. Lots to learn. Why am i using this camera? I guess I'm just a photographolic XD.
